The President of the Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe), today chaired a meeting of the Jubaland Council of Ministers, which focused on security, the national political situation, and drought response efforts across Jubaland.

The Ministry of Internal Security presented a detailed briefing on the security situation in Jubaland, highlighting recent operations carried out by security forces in various areas. According to the report, these operations have achieved tangible results in strengthening stability and overall security in the region.

The meeting also discussed the broader political situation in Somalia, including relations between Jubaland and the Federal Government. President Ahmed Madobe recently visited Mogadishu, where political and electoral talks were held. However, political differences remain, particularly regarding the Jubaland leadership elections, which the Federal Government has stated it does not recognize.

In addition, the Council of Ministers placed strong emphasis on drought response, directing relevant agencies to intensify relief efforts for communities affected by severe drought in parts of Jubaland.

A statement issued after the meeting reaffirmed that the Jubaland administration will continue its efforts to ensure security, strengthen internal governance, and provide humanitarian assistance to drought-affected populations.
