The Director General of Somalia’s Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, Abdulqadir Ali, conducted an inspection of the newly renovated headquarters of the Ministry in Boondheere district, marking the final stages of its reconstruction.

During the visit, the Director General received detailed briefings from the engineers overseeing the project, who provided updates on construction progress, remaining needs, and the timeline for the building’s full operational readiness. He commended the ongoing work and emphasized the importance of completing the facility quickly, while also expressing gratitude to international partners who contributed to the project and continue to support its implementation.

The renovated headquarters, which had been out of use for 35 years, is expected to play a significant role in improving the Ministry’s operations. The facility will enhance workflow coordination, increase administrative efficiency, and support the Ministry in achieving its strategic objectives, ensuring that effective and high-quality services are delivered to the Somali public.

Officials noted that the upgraded building will serve as a central hub for the Ministry’s activities, enabling better management of federal affairs, interior administration, and reconciliation programs across Somalia. The reopening of the headquarters represents a key milestone in Somalia’s efforts to strengthen public institutions and improve governance.
